You may be asking yourself, “What is Raccoon River?”
In the past, the Grand River was called the Geauga River. “Sheauga,” or Geauga, translates to racoon.
And so, the Grand River has historically been referred to as the Raccoon River. Our company has found its roots here, in the heart of the Raccoon River Valley.
Pete, the founder of Raccoon River Tree Care, has called Northeast Ohio his home since he was six years old. He grew up playing in the woods where he gained an appreciation for the local plants and wildlife. In 2013, he moved with his young family to Geauga County and they have been in the area ever since.
Pete started working with trees in 2013 after leaving the corporate world to focus more on his family. He soon realized tree climbing was his passion. He learned all he could and focused his efforts on methods that would allow him to do the least possible damage to the trees he cared for. He has worked in urban, suburban, and rural environments and done everything from land clearing to specialized pruning. He maintains certification through the International Society of Arboriculture and participates in ongoing education.
